
Upcoming long weekend for students!

Families and caregivers with children 3 to 5 years old are invited to a free early learning event from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2.
The session will include fun, play-based activities, and a story! This is an opportunity to connect with your local school, educators and community resources.
Each child will receive free books and a bag of resources to support their early learning experiences.
Families are encouraged to pre-register for the event at their local school or contact Allison de Boer (adeboer@sd83.bc.ca) for more information!

SD83 will be hosting a three-part series for parents that focuses on online gaming, social media safety for youth, and sexploitation. The sessions will be held online from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on three consecutive Mondays, February 27, March 6 and March 13.
Led by a Safer Schools Together trainer Scott Rothermel, the first session is about the Risks and Rewards of online gaming, the second is on social media, and the third on sexting, sextortion and sexual age of consent.

There will be an essential information meeting for the SD83 Late French Immersion Program (Grade 6) on Wednesday, March 8 at 6 p.m. at Shuswap Middle School.
It is important that parents and students (current grade 5 students) who are interested in the program please attend this meeting. Important information about the program as well as a link to an online sign up form will be shared at this meeting.
